Why Commission an Artwork?

Your home is already beautiful, because your amazing-self is in it! Let’s make it even more inspired with…

a one of a kind original.

If you’ve been dreaming of a floral-focused oil painting—rich in texture, color, and quiet softness—then I’m your girl.

If there’s a memory, ✨ a wish, ✨ or a moment ✨ you want to capture, honor, and hold close... I’ve got you.

Let’s work together to create a one-of-a-kind

artwork that BELONGS in your home.

Painting of pink roses with green leaves, displayed on a table with leaves and open books, alongside three small vials of colored powder paint pigment.

Project Examples

  • a floral or nature-inspired focus

  • a single person portrait *

  • a pet portrait

  • something your brilliant imagination wants brought to life ;)

  • a paint carving

* I highly recommend not adding people or pets from various photographs together into a single composition. I can make some adjustments using digital tools (and of course my own imagination) but often the necessary amount of adjustments to lighting, placement, backgrounds, etc. leave a lot to be desired in the final product.

Testimonials

Black and white cat with green eyes lying down, with an orange and brown background. Pastel painting on pastelmat paper. Original artwork pet portrait commission.

“Having our portrait of Eddie is so special - Ashley really captured him so perfectly and put in so much time to make sure it was a pure reflection of him. We are so grateful! ”

- Marina

“Ashley has a remarkable range as an artist, which made her the perfect choice for our two, very diverse projects! She did a large, abstract floral mural in our children’s playroom, and then completed a fine art painting of our first home complete with special finishes and attention to detail. Finding an artist who can paint/draw such a wide range of mediums and styles is a RARE GEM; and finding one who can also do this range with equally exceptional quality is even more miraculous. We couldn’t be happier!”

How do we do this?

  • Take a look at my paintings for a sense of my style, or for inspiration for your project. Take a look at my paint carvings to learn more about that commission process, or to find a previous work you would like to style your idea around.

    * Please note that my commission spots are limited… but….

** I absolutely love doing commissions! It lights me up - one of my favorite parts of my creative practice is creating specific work for specific people. So……

*** on that note - even if my current commission spots are filled, I’m always open to discussing the future.

If you’re not in a rush & have a flexible timeline, please fill out this form or send me an email and I’m happy to discuss future projects with you.

  • Things to nail down in order to proceed with a project:

    • style and medium (oil painting, pastel, or paint carving)

    • size & orientation

    • subject matter & color palette

    • possible timeline (please allow up to 3 months for a completed commission)

  • Reserve your commission with a non-refundable $100 reservation fee. This fee is applied to the overall total of your commission.

After that, I’ll reach out to discuss the plan, timeline, & other details. Once we agree on a plan of action, I’ll get started on sketches to confirm a composition!

Then just sit back and relax. I’ve got you <3

  • Paintings

Your commissioned painting belongs solely to you. It won’t be used for a print edition or other reproductions. It will be created exclusively for your home and yours alone.

As the collector, you’ll hold the “exclusive rights to display in a private residence” while I retain only rights to the image to share the piece in my online portfolio or on social media.

    Original paintings are truly one-of-a-kind.

    Paint Carvings

My current style of paint carving allows for overlap and shared imagery. The nature of this process means that future clients may commission a similar or same style, color palette, or design.

As the collector, you’ll hold the “exclusive rights to display in a private residence.” However, I retain the right to the image & design itself and may utilize it in future work, designs, licensing opportunities, and/or on social media.

No two carvings are ever 100% alike. These are individually & uniquely handcrafted panels that are lovingly layered and carved to tell your story and bring forth your joy.

    Final Details

I give a lot of attention & care to commission projects. I will share process photos with you, but I do not make edits or changes mid-process for paint carvings due to the nature of the carving technique. I do accept minor edits to oil paintings, however these can incur additional costs. Further details will be achieved in a simple contract before the work is started.

What happens if it’s just not working out?

I retain a lot of creative control over the artwork. So if, after the work is complete, we decide to part ways, you are not obligated to purchase the commission. You will simply forfeit your nonrefundable $100 reservation fee & down payment deposit (in the contract discussed before starting the work). And I will most likely sell the painting in an upcoming collection and will retain all rights to the artwork. This has never ever never happened before, but clarity is kindness!
